We understand that. Do you think I am never ashamed of things that America has done or is doing? I'm ashamed of the state of my country right now! But that doesn't stop me from feeling a sense of pride in the American spirit. Because I've been feeling those simultaneously since childhood.

But you haven't have you? You weren't given an early opportunity to understand that life is nuanced and often, world leaders commit atrocities and that is not necessarily always a reflection of the people who inhabit that land.
I believe you were taught what you claim American children were taught.

You were taught that britain is great lalalalala shut up anyone who has even half a bad thing to say about us ever. They tried that with us. But America is very large and we built our culture on being untamed. They find that more difficult to control. England is not a large area.

And much of your culture is based on conformity. Conformity has always been a topic of contention in America but since about the 70s or so, it's not been a very popular concept. Being different and unique has been celebrated here for several decades. And I like that about us.

Being different can be so much fun. And it harms no one. And if you conform to the majority, that's okay but you're bound to be different in some small way. Why hide that? Why not be yourself?

I think these fundamental differences of our culture are at the root of these disputes. I do think you are in the wrong in this. If you engage in that sort of behavior, go to therapy. Figure it out. I hope you can do better.
