Let me clarify though that I don't use Spotify. I canceled my account and deleted it during the movement to do so during the Joe Rogan Covid idiocy way back when.

I either buy online, or just download the music from Youtube if I can't find it anywhere else. Sometimes I'll buy an actual CD.

I agree, but some stuff I just can't buy online. Particularly Asian songs that for some reason are only available on Spotify, but nowhere else except for imported physical media.

Mostly J-Pop and Anime music, but sometimes other stuff.

Why not both actually?

They provide a somewhat decent service and is very convenient to use. I also have some purcheses on Bandcamp for my favourite artists

But that's nowhere near as convenient, and if I can be honest, I need much more than arguably pitty hyberboles to end my Spotify subscription

Piracy is genuinely more moral than using Spotify. If you bought one album a month and downloaded the rest, you’d be giving like a thousand times more to artists than through Spotify, crazy.

Hmm. This got me thinking. I use Spotify primarily to listen to podcasts, but I could do that elsewhere. And I love the idea of supporting the artists I enjoy by purchasing from them directly.

Why AM I paying for Spotify?
