The reason most people grow out of anime is because by the time you're in your 30s or 40s and have kids of your own, the idea that some high school freshman gained ultimate power and defeated a world-ending threat is too laughable to take seriously.
The world ending threat in any Shonen anime rightfully should be the pubescent boy who can suddenly level buildings with a single punch before he learned how to regulate his emotions.
In an arcade rhythm game, I once quoted that a certain song was "easy" (in which I mean not too hard to clear/win)
Got the whole active players at the time roasting me and that kinda shite, big time
Plenty of anime is cringe, and thats ok. Its meant to appeal to those that like that flavor of cringe. And trying to uncringe them will ruin them even more.
Most likely, femdom fans will hate me because I think Nagataro-san is an extremely disgusting character, and the premise/plot of this anime, as someone who was once bullied, I find extremely disgusting.
Your Lie In April is mid and the only people who think it's this emotionally deep story haven't cried since Ash got turned to stone in the first Pokemon movie. The same people who think this is peak romance are the same guys who, at 30+ still identify with Scott Pilgrim from the start of the movie.
