like, AR-15s did not exist in 1791. they very much did not exist. They existed so little that if you found one it would immediately become the most valuable object on Earth.

The difficulty I see is that the situation we have now (automatic weapons, mass shootings and school massacres) "weren't a thing" when the 2A was adopted, so it's hard to say how it applies in this context
