I’m old enough to remember the polio epidemic. It was terrifying. When a vaccine was introduced, we were happy - and relieved- to get it at school.

Doubt it, maybe our grands; maybe they’ll remember. In the early 50s, we’d walk thru a remote graveyard on our way to church - ALL the headstones were old & were for kids who died about the same time b4 age 5 or 6. No-one wanted to answer our qtns but we did find out they had all died of Diphtheria.
