Owls are my favorite type of bird (ahem, my handle.) The wisdom thing isn't quite true though. Owls are not the smartest bird (Corvids tend to be way smarter.) Owls gained the reputation from their silent, stoic focus on prey and "all-seeing" front-facing eyes.
