I have a story very similar to Emily’s. I am the longest ever patient on a Cystic Fibrosis modulator drug, currently at 15 years. I went from annual hospitalizations and to no chronic cough anymore. I wrote my will at 22 and like Francis Collins mentioned yesterday, now I have a retirement plan.

Something I struggle with is finding an audience to tell my story. I don’t want to make myself vulnerable to internet comment sections. There is a cacophony of voices right now and it’s tough to break through the noise! If anyone has ideas, let me know. I will go anywhere and talk before anyone.

It saved mine at age 6 with gamma globulin to counter the effects of Reyes Syndrome following chicken pox. It was still somewhat experimental but I had a young doctor who figured what the heck. We crossed paths 20 years later and he still remembered the case.
