I’m not saying *definitely don’t bring your phone* I’m saying ask yourself if it’s a vulnerability. Bear in mind that serious reception issues are common at large protests due to overtaxed networks
I had to bring my phone to protests for coordination purposes as a legal observer, and honestly it would have been helpful if everyone who didn't absolutely need one for practical/professional reasons had left theirs off or at home, precisely to reduce network load.
I would say that continuous recording is potentially creating a lot of material that could be used against the recorder and other activists by cops if they are able to get into your phone, and would tend to recommend against it. Airplane mode would help with the network overload, though
