I have a little stuffed animal bat that hangs from the rear view mirror of my car, and today I was driving a 3yo and he asked me why I had it and I said because I liked it and he (again) asked me why and I said because it makes me happy. And I hadn’t really thought of it that way, but it’s true!
I live by the idea that as long as the purchase wouldn't take away from my living needs (food, rent, etc), then I should just do it. Go on the trip, buy the fun bag, go to the con- since doing so, I have actually ended up saving more money than before (cuz I binge splurge less) AND I am happier.
