I’m a retired teacher and do not know how I will survive w/o my social security benefit!
Also, my dad died when I eleven, the oldest of four siblings and daughter of our 32 year old mother. Without our Social Security’s survivorship benefit, I don’t know how we woukd have survived!

Social Security benefits are not EARNED. They are paid for with a mandatory (thank you Frances Perkins for saving us) bank account held in trust by the government. Every worker has paid in to this account. The money is ours, not a "benefit" but a savings account.
