I recently hit 20 years. Fridge died, dishwasher never worked well, microwave had dents, and range was getting quirky. I got GE Profile, black stainless finish. Pieces had the features I wanted (double oven, large fridge). They are fine, look good, and dishes come out squeaky clean!

We've been really happy with our Bosch oven and dishwasher and Miele washer. But we'rein Europe and I don't know about those brands in the USA, because you often get the same brand made to different standards for different markets.

Bosch 100%. Solid build quality, very little tech bullshit. Only US refrigerator under $10k with dual compressors.

We had problems with the first dishwasher (leak detection switch, long story). When the problem persisted, the company replaced it at no charge, under the 1-year warranty. They seem to have eliminated some design quirks, and the new one works great.

Get an induction stove. More expensive, but doesn’t use gas, more responsive than gas (or standard electric), easier to clean, & boiling a big pot of water in 60-90 seconds makes me ridiculously happy. GE & LG (which is what we got) are highly rated. When I asked here several ppl said no to Samsung

Second vote for induction. Gotta check how many pots & pans you might need to replace, and there might be trade-offs if you live somewhere with cheap gas and expensive electricity (in BC we have the opposite).

We thought we'd miss gas, but we absolutely don't. No regrets.

On refrigerators, my advice is think hard about how you want/like shelves, especially in the doors. We can’t fit a 36” in our space, we mostly like the 30” we bought, but I hate the doors; two gallon jugs fit on the bottom of each door, but the rest of the shelves are too low for a bottle of beer

I’m pretty happy with my LG appliances. Somewhat cheaper than premium brands but, as far as I can tell, just as good unless you’re looking for really high end features.

we had to reno our whole kitchen (mold). Happy with
- Frigidaire fridge
- Cafe (GE) induction stove
- Bosch dishwasher
also have Breville toaster oven / microwave, both good

An induction stove may require an upgrade to the circuit running through your kitchen or even maybe the panel so keep that in mind
