Mexico and Canada have firefighters on the ground and planes in the air. I don’t think I need to offer further commentary other than this is why you need allies. No one can survive on their own.

My take; IF for some insane reason trump could actually care about the fires, he would have already said something, visited Gavin to see the destruction; offered his help. That’s not going to happen.
the USA operates 10 of the Canadair planes, probably more from other manufacturers, tho the Canadair CL-415/De Havilland DHC-515 (successor in production) are the gold standard. But Canada builds them, so we have more... and they cost 30 million each, so....
