I will continue to use as blockers until the ads are not obtrusively placed in the middle of what I’m TRYING to look at, and don’t play sounds or flash in ways that trigger migraines.

You get colorful words and pictures in the sidebar or STFU.

I also need them to let me fully block/opt out of ads for certain things that I simply can't handle. Broad categories, not just individual products/companies at a time. All horror movie trailers. All weight loss ads. All alcohol ads.

EXACTLY. It's so frustrating. I would be content to have ads run b/c I can't afford to financially support the creators I follow. They can make this whole situation more tenable. They choose not to.

TBH this is actually a really good concept. If advertisers can pick and choose who they sponsor (ie. excluding sex workers, queers and whatnot) we should be allowed to pick and choose who we let advertise to us.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I will sit through ads if they allow me to filter out, permanently, what I don't want to see. But until they start treating us like we're people, too... I'm gonna block.
