I'm one of the few folks who rate S1 > S2, purely from a narrative structure and pacing POV. I don't think S2 used its extra 10min per episode fully effectively, and the in-episode arc structures within each constrained 1h block led to a lot of padding.

Okay, I'm going to watch season 2 now. Initially I only heard bad things about it. I haven't read enough of the books to care, and I thought the first season was fine and was curious to see more.

Ohmygosh don't hate me when you get mad about Mat's ashandarei. Oh wait, you didn't read enough of the books to care. Carry on. My biggest complaint has been that Rand has been more observer than protagonist, an issue which the producers promise they're finally correcting in S3.

I think a lot of the people who disliked it that I heard were fans of the books, and I can definitely see how it changes enough to frustrate a fan. But sometimes that's why it works out to not read them haha. Honestly this series is so long I'm not sure I'd ever pick it up, so the show is fine.

A late coworker about 15 years my junior introduced me to the series right in time for me to read everything up to Jordan's last book, and eagerly anticipate Sanderson's three. I'm okay with most of what they altered. I just hope we finally get all the spankings in season 3. A man can dream.🤞
