The problem is that people don't understand that any tariff, excise tax, or any other tax applied to merchandise, at the end, is the consumer who will finally pay it. Is not the government, nor China, MX, who's going to suffer. But all of us will be going to pay it. Thanks ignorants voters!🤬

Well actually your instincts are 100% correct. It can’t and won’t. All it will do is have those tariffs passed along to the consumers. Not once in the history of economics has tariffs done anything valuable in peacetime.
