sadly due to the nature of brain chemistry diversity one antidepressant may be horrible for one person, but then a life changing blessing for another. its not super clear cut.

all of those points though are concerns you can bring up to a psychiatrist and dosing may be able to be adjusted!

yea that's the issue. every single one they've put me on made me significantly worse, & the ones i could try aren't government subsidised, so i'd be paying stupid amounts just for a medication that *might* work 💀 i'm fickle with that shit ngl

you may be able to get a list of the ones you know for Sure did not work. my knowledge with psychopharmacology is approximate but many of them have similar builds (so to speak) to it may help whoever’s working with you just know what to avoid

but trust me i get it lol. ive been unmedicated due to just not wanting to deal with side effect roulette, BUT i can say for sure that the meds do work for some folks. its just about finding the right one.

nah at least not in my case. it's not an ssri so I didn't notice any issues being not able to cum like not to be tmi but I was flickin my bean multiple times a day when I was on it LMFAO 💀

lord. i'd rather not increase my sex drive. i like it fairly low for my comfort. i just don't want it nonexistent bc it drives a wedge in my relationships when it IS absent. pain in the ass to keep it consistent. 🫠 especially with medication.

ymmv to be fair I've always had a relatively high sex drive (esp in my like mid-20s when I was taking it) so it may not have quite the same effect if ur sex drive is already on the lower side!! might be worth looking into how other ppl reacted on it

i take brintellix and my psych told me it apparently helps w anxiety, and my mood swings, ymmv obv. bc mine also helps w my other mental health issues (i can talk more abt it privately ! as i don't like airing things out in public) BUT i have a p. low sex drive already and i don't observe it

being completely gone. but i get nauseous feelings which i need hard candy/peppermint tea/painkiller to help with. my psych also told me the risk of panic attacks but i've never gotten them !

I take welbutrin as part of my meds lineup (Its for bipolar, so I've gotta take a couple different things) BUT I've had a lot of luck on it. It can also be used to help with ADHD symptoms.

Def do a lot of research! Thats the hardest part, and make sure you explain all of these things to your doctor, they may have better recs for you.

its not necessarily true. symptoms brought on by autism (ex: anxiety) could result in different results and different approaches to treatment that may result in things not working out, but autism and antidepressants don’t necessarily conflict or anything of the sort like that. its more situational.

I understand but I can also vouch for wellbutrin. everyone does react differently though. but the worst part no matter what it does to you is the first two weeks. so try to wait like a month after starting something if at all possible before you decide it isn't for you.

I am snappy as fuck off of my meds, but welbutrin has had the opposite effect on me since starting almost exactly a year ago. It's one of those things you have to try and just be really mindful of potential side effects. It's not an SSRI, which i think is why it's been so good for me.

i take lamotrigine and itssss mostly good regarding those things, but its a mood stabilizer and i take it for bipolar so idk if it can be used as just an antidepressant 😵‍💫

I'd like to avoid bipolar medications as the last time i was on mood stabilisers, they made me suicidal. i was misdiagnosed with bipolar (it was autism & BPD lmfao) 😭

those meds literally ruined me. i can't remember the name of the med tho.... sodium valporate or smth???
