Speaking of Covid, any thoughts on how long after an infection a person should wait until getting a booster? I’ve heard 6 months but that makes me a little nervous.

I'm homebound due to disability and just had to cancel my scheduled booster visit with the county health department (that THEY took six weeks to schedule, sigh) because I tested positive over Christmas. They told me to reschedule in three months.
Generally speaking the shortest you can expect a solid benefit is around 3 months, and on the other end, the longer you are willing to wait the more time your immune system has to make better antibodies via affinity maturation
Ugh I agonized over this when we all got covid literally days before the updated shots came out. We decided on getting the shots now (about 3.5 months post infection) because my kids go back to school next week and kids going back to school is how covid got to us 2x now!
iirc affinity maturation can take as long as a year, but at that point the opportunity cost from not having the re-boost of nABs at peak respiratory virus season really starts to sink in imo.
