The trouble with the DLC is that it had no ideology other than pragmatic deal making with lobbyists. The DLC lack of vision is partly responsible for the populist reaction. It kept the rich, rich and parceled out incremental benefits to everyone else.

Clinton did not fix the brand last time... lolol, maybe from a GOP perspective. Clinton hollowed out middle class, chasing 3rd way neocon approval by blaming made up welfare queens, and started a racist and completely bunk drug war (w/Biden's help btw) that created our current police state.
