That does make sense. Specially when live on granite. Getting thermal ground loops installed must be quite costly.
Good thing though: that is a one off cost. The topside gear may need replacing, but the thermal loops do not.

Such systems here are costly, but still relatively cheaper since we live on clay. We need to smash concrete poles into the ground to 30 meters depth to find a stable sand plate that we can actually build on.
