The image restyle(DomoAI) functionality was added in November of last year, so under the old CEO.

But yeah, it's an app, not a bot, and isn't secretly in your servers scraping your data, it only uses images it's prompted to use after opting into the app. It's still shitty AI though.

If DomoAI does have a bot, again, you have to manually add it in. It won't magically appear in your server. If any bots get added to your server that you did not add, you need to check perms and view the audit log because people clearly have access to things they shouldn't.

You can preemptively ban any user and it'll say they were banned, that does not mean they were secretly hiding out in your server. Even if you could ban the application, getting a "this user has been banned" message doesn't mean it was secretly camping out. It's ALL OPT-IN.

Banning the ID does essentially nothing because again, it's NOT A SERVER BOT. IT'S AN APPLICATION ON THE USER'S END. It's NOT "hiding" anywhere.

user ids banned on enough servers get autoflagged for platform moderation, apps/bots/users all share the same id format, so while it doesn't ban the bot, it can ~potentially~ aid in getting the message across to discord admins...

Unfortunately I don't think so since they can just argue "well it's optional, if you don't like it you don't have to use it." Unless it hits them financially in a significant way, they won't do anything.

regardless of if you are the owner of the image - you can use it on any image in any server, can forward images from public servers to private ones and then use it on them, its a bit more worrysome than "just dont opt in"

Even if there was discord settings that stopped people from using domo or the other ai remixing apps on discord, there's nothing stopping ai bros saving the image to use another genai software. My main point is that you have to go out of your way to use it, it's not automatically on like claimed

Yea I asked OP to acknowledge and delete the post to stop the spread of misinfo but all they did was delete anything related to it which is pretty disappointing. Even the post I asked them to acknowledge it on. I'm not gonna assume bad faith it just stinks :/

even if you don't opt in, others can opt in and upload your content. you can do so in forwarded messages, followed channels embeds, etc. even if a server has external app functionality disabled, these apps go around those settings. even if the person submitting isn't the original poster.

Right! In order to use it you need to give it permission to your account. Similar to how Discord activities need user permission since they're integrated into the client instead of just executing commands in a chat. It isn't just working automatically from the jump.

Yea, for now that's all we can do. It doesn't stop people using the app, it just makes it a DM instead of server message, and images can just be reposted elsewhere where the perms aren't disabled, it's very easy to work around, sadly.
