Years ago my best friend found a Hummingbird mama had made a nest in the top of the a patio wind chime. She named her Sally and Sally returned every year to produce 2 hatchlings, it went on for many years. My friend is gone now, I am sure Sally misses her as much as I do.

Her husband is Lakota American Native said she had the hummingbird spirit. After she passed he took up Lakota Native Dance and performs at Pow Wows doing the dance of the Hummingbird.

Because they are! Nectar-feeders are outrageously aggressive and spend most of their time guarding their nectar. I swear they spend half their energy chasing away other hummingbirds.

I love hummingbirds. Lots of them when I lived in a SW area of Nova Scotia. I setup a bunch of feeders because the populations were getting smaller. Tried a slow-no vid but they’re so fast and done in one spot I couldn’t get one at all!

Hummingbirds are beautiful! My niece captured this Anna's hummingbird in a brightly flowered bush at San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido, CA. She first heard & then spotted it, & luckily had a camera ready. She was used to sound due to hummingbirds visiting flower in her yard in Florida.

How many birds are mighty little warriors. My hummingbirds have trained me to come out and weed in my garden and if I don’t, they will chirp that one note over and over and over again until I get outside and then they come and they buzz my face while I weed. 🥰🥰
