I just replaced the bulb in my 201 - it's a bit of a PITA. The 301, 500 - covers come off so it's easier. I put LEDs into mine so I don't have to replace them often (and they put off less heat).
I've rewired, including the motor, on my 66 & 15. Was your wiring in bad shape?
Yes; the one in my profile picture. It was the original wiring (gross). I had another motor ready to go on it so that helped. The bulb was pretty easy once I had the machine back in the table. Tonight she gets a spa treatment and polish. 😀
There was a period in the late 40s and 50s where the wiring insulation used was very UV sensitive. Just trash. Gets gummy and crumbly simultaneously. We're lucky it's not the most difficult work - just takes some time, eh? Have you sewn with it yet? My 201 is my go-to now. Luxurious!
Expecting winter weather this week in the Dakotas, so we're cutting down what's left of the garden and blowing leaves into piles for pollinators to overwinter. Love seeing your Hawai'i snapshots! Earned my MFA at UH Manoa and taught at La Pietra for a few years. Winter was warmer then! 😉
Well I’m going to colour my hair, tried growing out greys.Yuk!Back to brunette.Things are grey and cloudy here(Alberta)so think I’ll have a mainly indoor day. What are you up to today?
Dang, I’m sorry that didn’t work out with your hair. Today my husband and I went out for a nice breakfast and then we found a neat little shop with lots of cool trinkets. Then I had to go back home and take my statistics test.
Gorgeous view! Sunday teacher life here. Grading/getting ready for the week. This weeks to include primary productivity, energy transfer, and trophies cascades. 🙌
I’m only on week 2 and I’m barely hangin on 😅 I’m starting to get used to Excel though so I think I’m going to be ok. What’s your favorite supplemental content to suggest for your students?
My BEST to you! It might be hard to imagine a tenured professor suggesting this, but I want my students to learn more about the statistics they are doing from AI. Specifically, co-pilot and chatgpt. To me, the most important part is not arriving at a calculation, but stating what it means.
This is so awesome to hear, coming from a professor! Thank you for sharing that. I use Chat GPT for self tutoring and I also have it quiz me to test my gaps in knowledge. I have ADHD and possibly a bit of the ‘tism so I need lots of context and examples. It has been a game changer for me!
You like coasts, here is a rock arch, Durdle Door, Dorset, South coast of England: an area of classic Geology. Full photo shold show small boat botton R for scale...
It is much photographed. a view from further to the R shows the flat face making the left side of the hole, (hardly a cave) explaining the violin appearance.
Aloha Oahu from Wisconsin! The countdown has begun until we are back in Hawaii again. Going to Kauai for a few days before heading to the Big Island by family. Watching the Packers play today, so Go Pack Go!
My favorite is the small place on the back road way to the botanical garden near Hilo… the shave ice at Kawaihae is great to and closer… if you like all tricked out OBISIC at Kings shops really does a huge good one ( I like simple )💜🌸
I’m old enough to remember being excited that MMR vaccines were available for my kids! I remember getting my first credit card as a woman, opening a small business in the early 80’s as a woman… most importantly access to reproductive emergancy health care probably saved my life in the late 1970’s
Good morning, or afternoon! I'm trying to learn how to grow mushrooms indoors and how to use them to improve the soil in my garden. Lion's Mane did great. Red Reishi did okay but not as well as it should have. My Shitake was contaminated so I had to discard the substrate.
I’m ahead of you in time here in the UK, I’ve finished my work day and now trying to keep myself warm. It’s close to freezing point here and not basking in the warmth like there in Hawaii haha! Hawaii is a beautiful place, I love it!
Great photo. Love the sky. Thanks for sharing. We are paying the bills, making travel plans for 2025 and wondering if I’m still dreaming regarding the election.
it's chill self care day for me. I hung up some xmas lights in the house and now im relaxing on the couch, watching @highrollersdnd.bsky.social live, snacking and staying hydrated while idly scrolling 😇
Greetings from the UK, am working on deciding what to eat for my evening meal, probably will be a pasta dish. That’s a beautiful sky in your photo, lovely to see around the world, fills me with possibilities, thank you
A paper on discipline vs punishment for a psych skills class I’m taking, which I did two others for this class yesterday. I’d rather be spending my day looking at the view than the grey dullness of Canadian skies during the winter. Or my computer screen 🤣
Our papers aren’t thesis based for the most part, but proving a skill or intervention technique while working with trauma history kids and youth, along with psych issues, marginalization, unstable home life, foster or DV shelter experience. And these papers are for one class.
Then another class on child development with one major paper on specific parts of childhood. Early childhood my paper was 35 pages long because I’ve raised kids and use real life examples and am older than the prof who just regurgitates the text book, so I give him lots of citations of other sites 🤣
I also have a paper on bullying due, with “as your experience as the bullied or the bully in elementary school, answer these questions”. I graduated elementary school in 1988, junior high in 1990 and high school in 1994. I mean I had to explain 9/11 and Afghanistan to a classmate this week. I’m old

I forgot - I'm retired. Have been house-sitting, now catching up on laundry & chores.
For a geologist - spot the disurbance to the layers and the fault (now near horizontal, at the bottom of the main face.
I’m decluttering at home for a potential move, if a job offer works out. Enjoy your day!
And yeah it feels like a nightmare still.
Costco is my favorite store!
