a product meant for children released in the 90s or 2000s is not going to have a lot of mint condition boxes available. storing them is annoying. transporting them to cons is costly. of course they’re fucking expensive??? this isn’t the same thing as buying new consoles to flip for $100 extra

so i semi-agree but i do think part of the squeeze is that theres game collectors vs the loss of like, random "oh damn i found this game ive always wanted to play for a decent price" and that kind of fun and thrill of random finds is gone with, specifically, these items having pure Speculator Value

I don’t want a “collection” I want the like five games I loved as a kid that I was forced to get rid of to not cost Dollars because of someone trying to make a buck lol. There are a few circumstances where the manual really does matter to me because I basically learned how to draw out of them.

I’m otherwise extremely “realistic” about old games though, like, I own multiple everdrives and every system that I can mod without soldering, is. It’s just in one or two spots where I really wish shit wasn’t how it is, and I’m annoyed that it got this way for stupid reasons.
