Donating blood now with my husband. Just a friendly reminder that less than 3 Percent of Americans donate blood. It makes for a fun date 😆 and it’s a super easy way to make a difference and save a life 💙💙💙

WOOHOO, Laurie! So glad you and hubby are doing this! Mrs. Eggz and I were supposed to go this past Wednesday, but weather issues made us reschedule to next Wednesday. Yay!!!
Not trying to brag here. Just agreeing with your post. I’ve been donating blood/plasma for 50 years now. It doesn’t take that long and the sense of giving is well worth the time. Besides, plasma takes about 2 hours. I binge watch stuff on Netflix. 🤣🤷♂️
Laurie I encourage folks to either donate platelets, plasma or blood cells. The donation window to redonate is small but this is something people need and I’ll be back next week to do another round.
Donated multiple times a year since I was 17. I got Lyme Disease about 13 years ago. Now they only take plasma…dude that a few times. (I suffer no long term problems from the disease, btw) They always need blood !
I exactly know exactly what you’re saying that’s happened to me a couple times but I’m doing OK. I took the day off from doing a packing or this and it was really good for my mental health.
💙💙💙 Wish I could give. I did give multiple times during the pandemic but the last time I fainted and each time felt queasy. Probably had something to with my BP.
do you know how much hospitals charge for your freely donated blood? I was a blood donor until I saw the obscene charges to patients for a pint of blood!
My husband & I did this on one of our very first date nights before we were married (it was a complete coincidence that we had booked our regularly scheduled donations on the same night)
Our daughter had her 17th birthday party as a donation party
She and my husband go together now that I can’t
It was pretty fun for about 20 years. The nurses started giving us Gingerale in champagne glasses to “drink while we drained”😆
The nurses also decorated, supplied a cake, and had a playlist going for Thing 1’s birthday party
Several staff had been there from the beginning of us
Excellent! My parents donated every opportunity and my mom was an on-call donator (old days). Unfortunately I am unable to because of my medical status. Kudos to you.
I have a rare blood type and was a lifelong frequent donor. Call me selfish, but I am taking a donor break because I don't want to take the chance my blood donation will go to a MAGAT aka Nazi sympathizer.
