I'm a bit confused here. I'm not a "brexiteer" but since when was the green party a party of globalisation and trade blocks? If the answer is to rebuild the infrastructure of globalisation, are we not asking the wrong question?

Since I joined at least, the Greens have been a party that believes in international cooperation

It's why they have various sister parties

It's undeniable in my opinion that the EU as a whole can secure better trade deals than individual European countries can

As American just watching this drama, leaving the EU was a dumb idea and the problem with the Green Party is if climate change ends tomorrow there is no point in the party anymore. I’ve yet seen greens come up with a government structure. It’s just them sucking up to who’s ever in power.

I couldn't disagree more... I live in a city that nearly has a majority of Green councillors

They have a policy platform that is centred in social justice of which the climate crisis is part but is far from the only element

For example they are trying to better renter's rights

Not my country not my problem. But here, also with different countries, the definition of "green party" can have different meanings. In some countries, the green party is a red flag where they are eco fascist. Unless by sister party you mean the European Greens parties.

You're right there are lots of different Green Parties and they're far from being the same

It does like we were talking about different parties

They have sister parties who share strategy advice etc but there is still a lot of variance

I don't doubt for a moment that the EU can get better trade deals. In a world of globalisation, massive trade blocks hold negotiating power. But I don't see that that should be the demand of the green party, who should be focused on dismantling globalisation, not participating in it.

Is it really the purpose of the green party to "get better trade deals", whatever the cost though? Shouldn't the GP be an advocate of radical new ways to make the word work which don't strengthen the foundations of the system that is causing all the problems. This feels short sighted.
