Oh yeah. One of the biggest, most common barriers to design and design research practices is that the business model isn't reality-based. So, learning more about reality isn't…advantageous.

It also occasionally just doesn't work if the real reason they're doing something is "the VCs/CEO told me to do this other thing" or if they are fundamentally irrational about their own vision. Incredibly frustrating since they'll often lie about those things!
