I disagree with gloomy forecasts on this - there will be initial pain, then, 6-12 months of adjustments for Canada: finding new trading partners, creating new supply chains.
Canada is already part of TPP, so there are other markets we're tied into. Plus talks with the EU, who are our allies in this.

I see this as an opportunity for Canada, first, to keep from having all your eggs in one basket, and for developing new trade relationships - it's a pretty resilient world of trade out there - the tariffs will hurt the US far more than us - potash, power, oil, timber, steel

I suspect Canada can get the items it needs elsewhere at prices equitable with the USA, as to cars etc they WONT come from the US but direct from Europe and China as will white goods. This is gonna hurt the US more than Canada.
