@mpjgregoire Carney said he saw a teachable moment and accepted Chiang's apology, but the more I chew on this the more I cannot see it as acceptable.

@johannab There's no way in which a candidate for Parliament should ever say, even in jest, that a Canadian should be turned over to another country for a bounty. Are we concerned about foreign interference in Canadian politics or not?

@mpjgregoire Ew, yeah, I do remember that one.

I don't have a shred of fondness to spare for Harper, but do have to acknowledge he was fast on the gaffes in party optics. And yeah, this is so much worse. It comes under both stochastic terrorism and foreign interference.

@mpjgregoire It's Carney's first major blunder. I expect the LPC will cave to pressure eventually but they'll look much worse than if they had booted Chiang right away.
