i've accepted the mantle of "hater" because it can be a little fun sometimes, but really i just like skilled storytelling and also video games and would like to see the two converge more often

watching the slow decline of every video game series that has ever inspired me is like being fated to witness my wife die again and again in every possible timeline. i lash out because i'm grieving
Ngl this is how I feel about the new M&L game. I loooved SSS and BIS but I can't get into Brothership at all, especially how after DT let me down after the first two hours
I mean how could they fuck up ace attorney story even more. It seems like Apollo is being written out at least and he was like the problem with the last decade and a half. (The real problem is that Shu Takumi not involved no no but let me cope)
art movements need snobs in order to improve. if game narratives are stuck, stale, and slurried, then games writing as a discipline might not have nearly enough snobs.
"anyone can write" is a nice idea, but a truer version is "anyone can *learn* to write." too many people think it's innate.
you are one of the most skilled storytellers i know and your ways of hating are extremely admirable to me (which is a rare thing for me bc i don't usually enjoy most self-professed "haters" lol).
your critiques stem from genuine love and frustration versus a desire to be flip for the sake of it.
honestly seeing your comments makes me want to become an even better writer in my own right - as well as someone who can honestly talk about what she dislikes in series she usually loves. (i have. much to say about the new m+l game for example)
Nope stories are not allowed to talk about feelings or make the soft player uncomfortable in any way, everything has to be lighthearted jokes and nothing can be taken seriously, we will not be looking inward to explore the human condition……… god just shoot me already
I hate watching every content creator I get involved with succumb to problems. Problems that ultimately feel like my fault, but there's not really much I can do about it. Btw, being a hater isn't good. It collapses the industry and this is why game companies give up.
