“Bizarre things you firmly believed when a kid” is one of my favorite genres and I firmly believe we all have excellent examples if we can remember them

My dad had been doing something in the garage one day that involved cutting metal, I guess, and I ran through the garage barefoot and got a metal shaving stuck in my foot. During the removal process, I asked what the sharp thing was that was stuck in my toe. Reasonable question!

Mom, trying to keep TinyChildKiona calm and distracted while Dad did the first aid thing with the tweezers, said the silliest thing that popped into her mind, which was "An alligator! Haha!" And I just... accepted that. For like 17 years.

Also I apparently thought one of the bathroom stalls at my elementary school was haunted. I recall nothing, but it was jotted on a page of one of my notebooks with no further detail. Probably third grade me just decided it would be cool if the bathroom was haunted and decided to make it A Theory.

And for some reason I thought my friend's pool was a portal to the fictional town full of monsters in a book series I'd read, but only if you spun around really fast on the swing first. Tried for hours, never got it to work, still don't know what I was doing wrong, lol.
