For his 80th bday (70 years ago today), Parliament gave Churchill this Graham Sutherland painting.

Churchill privately called it "filthy" and "malignant."

In public he said "The portrait is a remarkable example of modern art. It certainly combines force and candour." (Lol.)

His wife destroyed it.
