First, what exactly is this thing I'm working on? This isn't just adversary stats inspired by different Pokémon and rules for catching. There are six new Callings, tweaks to character creation, and the introduction of Pokémon, which are essentially a new category of character.

The BREAK!! rules are 99% unchanged! If you love BREAK!! like I do, it's all still there. Aside from character creation the biggest rules change is making the injury table far less brutal. This hack has a philosophy that serious injury and death should be rare and handled with rp, not rng.

I'm also changing some terminology! For example, the Attributes have been replaced with Coolness, Toughness, Beauty, Cleverness, and Cuteness! This is mostly just flavor, but there are some interesting consequences, like Beauty representing both physical and social grace.

Now for the juicier stuff... Character options!
This is the bulk of the changes, as I'm replacing the first chapter of the book almost entirely. We have six brand-new Trainer Callings: Breeder, Coordinator, Scientist, Ranger, Ninja, and Aura Guardian! Each one interacts with Pokémon in a unique way.

The Breeder is the calling that best represents a trainer from the video games. Breeders are better at training Pokémon than other callings, with some social and caretaker abilities thrown in to round it out. Brock and Paul from the anime are both Breeders, despite their very different approaches!

The Coordinator focuses less on traditional training and more on strategy and using moves creatively, something that BREAK!!'s systems facilitate nicely. They also have "team leader" qualities. While this obviously represents trainers who participate in Pokémon Contests, Ash is also a Coordinator!
