Trying to select bananas 🍌 that give you properly ripe bananas for the whole week is an art form that I'm yet to perfect. I'm hoping this is the week I achieve Banarvana.

Get them with a slight green tinge, then put the bunch into an airtight plastic bag with a twist tie to stop them ripening. Works for me - I can't stomach overripe bananas
I like them fairly ripe but not slimy. We never waste them as I freeze them as they start to turn for smoothies. I didn't know about the plastic bag thing to stop ripening. We do the paper bag to help them ripen faster sometimes.
That's my approach too but I never quite seems to quite line up perfectly. The plastic bag suggestion to halt the ripening process seems very promising. I'm going to try that this week.
Let me know if you nail it. The one tip that I got that's promising is a sealed plastic bag to halt the ripening process. I buy about 28 bananas a week. 1 eaten as a banana and another frozen for a smoothie each day for me and my partner. It never quite goes to plan.
Yeah. There’s some rotation going on. Like I’ve got some now that are just nearing the end of their fuckable lives (before they live in the freezer for smoothies), so I’ll pick some up today and those will be ready by Wednesday. Haha.
We buy on Saturday and by the following Friday the unripe ones are too ripe and need to be smoothie Nanas which is totally fine. I just eat an actual banana with a pre-workout before the 6am gym session and Friday and Saturdays at are always a bit 🤮

1. Rinse them
2. Separate them
3. Cover the stems in foil.
