I've always thought the Rev. was Moses or Christ. Job never occurred to me, but it's a fascinating comparison. He keeps asking God when their suffering will be enough for Him.
And he's always scouting ahead of the others. Either his faith is stronger than he realizes, or he has a death wish.

Great piece. AND you are totally right. I can be a film snob, but I ADORED that film because of Hackman who was so incredibly magnetic and sexy, too.
