I'm 2 areas deep into Paper Jam, and I cannot believe what a complete waste of a good concept it is and how the story/characters are Sticker Star levels of nothing. Yet I cannot believe how ridiculously fun it manages to be at the same time. I am hooked regardless of its issues.

Is this going to be video essay material or an LP at a later time?
(Only curious to know, judging on how you're feeling playing this game currently.) 👍
BUT INSTEAD WE GET TWO BOWSERS!
You can REALLY tell that Paper Jam was made in that “sterile” era of Mario.
in the paper timeline you can at least excuse dead characters returning--
Games still fun bc it's a Mario and Luigi game but the story is terrible
Imagine the likes of Fawful or the Shroobs teaming up with Grodus or Bleck. We would have FEASTED.

If you start to think about it you'll hate it for the wasted opportunities but if you go in not caring and appreciating it for what it is then you're gonna love it
Genuinely some of the best gameplay in the series
PJ has nothing for me to latch onto and draw fanart of and obsess over after the fact. It's a bog-standard Mario game. I just feel so empty just thinking about it.
Their opinion is *just* as valid as yours is, and your opinion is *just* as valid as theirs. (cont.)
You *can*, in fact, disagree with people in a *respectful* manner.
It’s just regular Mario, it’s definitely the weakest but that doesn’t make it bad
Even the worst game in the M&L series has a superb combat system.
Though this game does deserve some credit for beginning Junior's character arc that culminates in Brothership.
and actually you get exp and so have a reason not to avoid encounters
and also not every attack is an attack that wastes a sticker
like who thought not having a standard attack is a good idea?
