Even as a kid I don't remember having trouble with the Train boss. I don't think It took me one try but overall its one element's of the game.

also when ever I do the shot em up minigame just spamming the 2 colors worked wonders.

Let's be real here. If there's any aspect of the remake that almost ALL OF US CAN AGREE changed for the better, it's the fire breath attack in giant battles using the touch screen instead of the mic. That, and Bowser tossing the train the gorge. Sweet, sweet vengeance.

I do like how there's better visual indications for Bowser's Excellent attacks, too. I hate having to rely on the vague frame where Bowser's knee tucks in a *little* bit more, or his face getting to a certain shade of red. I still hate playing the remake, but I think the better indicators are nice.

For the Bowser Memory fight, you can stop L's flee-from-the-Boo attack by jumping on the Boo.

Additionally, coins can appear during M's Star charge attack. These coins influence M's charges, either by jumping or switching his target. If a coin appears over a Bro, you can have that Bro jump and grab the coin before M reaches it.

One last thing: Those were Choombas in the Fawful Express fight, not Chuboombas. They weren't fat, ant I didn't see them carrying lollipops.

Here’s a correction: the missile attack is not forced damage, it’s just that the game is picky on how you’re supposed to tap on that spiky obstacle.

The remake managed to simultaneously fix the train fight and add a new layer of bullshit to the Gauntlet variation of the fight.

Mic controls are completely gone so the one tap fire breath timing prompt is so much better and he yeets the train into the ravine which I imagine is cathartic as hell.

But cause the only way to up challenge in the Gauntlet is to speed everything up, you have to learn that when the game tells you to "tap rapidly" to break the mountains, you actually can't tap too fast and a slower, consistent rhythm works better. Which is counterintuitive to what the prompt says.

Also the dumbest thing about nerfing the Bowser Memory Bros is that Wisdurms HP was retained from the original and every other boss at this stage of the game got buffed or were the same including optional ones. The X bros version weren't nerfed either so this is a spiteful nerf for no reason.
