The judge has asked the 22 states to file a report in 24 hours, and then every two weeks, confirming they are getting their money. Which sure feels like a rebuke to/test of the admin defying other funding court orders.

Good news that the judge is trying to make his decision stick. Enforcement/compliance is critical to any chance we have to have a real judicial check on this outrageous executive overreach.
In 2008 financial crises aftermath with budget cuts the first thing that happened was reduced trash pickup and bathroom cleaning. Janitors, maintenance crews and landscapers will get laid off early on
One thing to keep in mind when discussing the WH possibly ignoring orders is that it would require lawyers in the DOJ to play along. That puts their own law licenses in play. I’m a lawyer for over 25 years - that’s usually a bright red line for lawyers. Trump can’t pardon them out of a disbarment.
If a lawyer defies a court order the Judge should be the one referring the matter to the bar. That process varies, but it does, of course, allow for due process. But I’ve defended my share of bar complaints, and defying a court order isn’t real defensible.
Of course, we can’t guarantee there aren’t lawyers willing to play along. Maybe some loons will - but they can also see what happened to the Four Seasons team or legal all-stars, starting the Rudy. Who is signing up for that?
That is reassuring, but you’d think no one would sign up to be Trump’s running mate or be part of his cabinet either after he tried to get Pence hanged.
I have never seen such a collection of misfit villains in my life.

Grateful there is a way norms still may be observed.
Many of us have been trying to work out how enforcement will occur since Vance & Musk are saying they will ignore the courts.

Here’s hoping… 🤞🏻 🙂
