It still surprises me when people see patterns in behaviour and think 'this time they'll do this other thing instead'. I know the psychology behind it, but it still baffles me how people can see someone do something over and over and over and over and then think 'nah, they won't do that'.

"This is a pattern. If one law firm capitulates, Trump goes after more. If one university, tech billionaire, media company capitulates, he goes after more. If we don't fight him now, when he’s only gone after one legal resident, then we can't act surprised when he ultimately goes after Americans."
