Makes sense. We have oak floors, redwood timber, all solid as a rock. Though I haven’t pulled up the bath linoleum yet. Looks original but needs replacing. Kitchen tile, too, that was an “add” and I hate it.

We’re lucky, windows were just redone before we moved in. That is a major project.
Bath is simple, toilet is already replaced, new sink, new flooring, putting an in-wall cabinet in place of the electric space heater (ca. 1953) that came with the joint. And kitchens are basic. Yay!
Someday we will truly re-do downstairs bath, more disability and aging friendly, and we will put in new hw oak flooring like we did in upstairs bath. But for now it's the heavy duty vinyl we put in when we first moved in.
