I start developing character and percolating story for my next script while I’m writing my current one all the time. I was percolating Soul Glow Activator when I was writing Tits Up and The Open Air. I’m usually thinking two projects down the line as I’m writing my WIP.

I think you just need to keep percolating and resist the urge to start writing. If you write before it’s ready to go, you probably won’t finish it. If I don’t know who I’d cast or where I’d pitch it on concept alone, I know it’s not ready and I don’t start 🤷🏼‍♀️

That's a great approach. Everyone has their checklist for sure. I know the one I'm working on is a great concept etc but with how dark things are in the world at the moment, I just want to write comedy lol.

I percolate several over months/years while typing up others. The pieces take a while to form before being ready to write.

This is such a tough one. I've found having a max of 3 projects on the go, and allowing myself to bounce between, works decently. Takes longer to finish things, but I get there in the end!

Also a big slush pile of ideas-in-waiting, to park the shiny things in. Good luck ADHD friend! 😉
