All non-fascist Americans are welcome to come here and continue important work (like climate and medical research, human rights, etc) that is no longer possible in the US.

Sorry you didn't get in... but there are longer paths to citizenship if you're persistent. It helps if you find a job that will assist with visas and such.
Or stay and fight fascism where you are. That is also an admirable choice. Unsure how much we can do to help from here on that front though, beyond sharing our experience with historical fascism (and make no mistake, that is what the Trump regime is).
Indeed, for all the nonsense about being the 'leader of the free world' the rest of the world does keep having to deal with the US' many terrible decisions and gets no say in them. This is why people from other countries pay attention to US politics and have strong opinions on it.
Living in this is definitely anxiety inducing. Knowing that you live in a country that people are hating and that is antagonizing other countries without your say at all is horrid
Do join protests, but in general it's best to avoid signing up for websites or lists, as those can also be used by the government (the one you're protesting) or other organizations to track you. Just show up and make your voice heard.
