One of the things my older kiddos asked when we left the theater yesterday at Revenge of the Sith was, “Did people really not like the Prequels when they first came out?”

But in retrospect the prequels despite issues have an original and coherent story and characters, while the sequels we got... don't
The sequels are just incompetent flailing
Instead we got prequels, and that sounded cool, but wasn't
It reminded us of changes in the Special Editions, and Jar Jar was cringe
I'm telling you how 15yo me felt, not saying it's Deep Thoughts
Nah, the prequels were flawed but fun. Except for Clone Wars
They have a coherent story in there, and it's not a cynical retread, so that alone makes them 10,000x better than JJ's slop
It's been like that for so I long I wonder if it's ever been different.
The first movie *marinated* in public consciousness waiting for the 2nd movie. It still is kind of a big mess and no amount of Podracers or Duel of Fates can fix it.
Things change when you gotta wait instead of binge.
I won't deny the show had some issues (that could have even been fixed in more seasons), but it did not deserve cancelation.
