The Chicago Cubs are acquiring right-handed reliever Ryan Brasier in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, sources tell ESPN. Brasier, 37, was DFA'd last week but should get leverage innings for Chicago.

(Channeling @mcelwee.bsky.social ) “who’d the Cubs give up for the DFA reliever? Owen Cassie and J Trantros?” Hey Mike, how did I do? :-) I know the impression is not perfect, but I’m working on it! (Gotta laugh a little after watching the news…)
We legit did give up Zyhir Hope and Jackson Ferris for a guy the Dodgers DFAd (Michael Busch). Both of them I believe are Top 100 prospects. So, yep, I could see us trading guys who ended up as Top 100 prospects. Not guys who are 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 Top 100 prospects I hope. 😂
Busch has been good. The Dodgers have great drafting and development teams. It allows them to do this kind of thing, trading guys they can't fit on their 40 into high upside prospects. The rich get richer.
