The through line in all of this is that Cenk will go where he thinks money is when he gets desperate. I believe the decision to pivot to this common ground populism with right wingers is more about money than his actual beliefs. It’s phony to me.

That's a fair criticism, and I haven’t considered it before. I'm not sure I think you’re correct, but as a theory, it makes sense.
My rebuttal would be that the focus on populism makes sense as a strategy. In the big picture, the Right and Left hate the corruption in DC, right? Both could be true.

I agree on finding common ground on issues of agreement with voters, but I do not like the way they are going about it. They are political commentators. They are supposed to be a voice for progressive ideals. Anyways, I’m glad we can talk like this here.

It’s the way Cenk sells the brand. He is so loud about being independent and acts like it’s all about the viewers, but his actions tell a different story.
