Years ago when hubby and I started our little family we made the decision to host Thanksgiving, usually in-laws who are local. A retired teacher friend of mine has become a Spanish expat. She says it's the only way she can afford a comfortable retirement.

Funny, the in-laws in Malaga right now are both teachers here in Texas. This was always the plan, but they sold their house and sped the process up by a few years. They are finished. Spain seems like a popular spot for expats. I’m visiting Barcelona in June, just as a tourist though.

Apparently it's super cheap in Spain. I'll be interested if you still find it so. Frankly when I retire from this profession my eye is on the Pyrenees.

It is quite affordable and you can’t beat the climate. We are doing a day trip to Andorra and the Thermes d'Ax in the Pyrenees in France. The region looks beautiful in early spring. Some pics remind me of Colorado but with old French villas around.
