I'm stumped. Which pier is that? Looks like Pier 25 back when I loved it dearly. I see in memory the resident cormorants perched on pilings, stretching their wings between dives.
Second look: That's *got* to be Pier 25 at its funky best. If you got shots of the Canada geese that lived in the flower boxes, would love to see some. Or the swallows that nested under the pier. Or any chance migrant birds … Or …
Hi, I've just gone back through my pictures from that day in August 2011, but I have nothing else from that area, I can tell you it's the peir next to the Holland Tunnel, hope this helps solve it.
Thanks so much for taking the trouble. The way NY state rebuilt piers 25 & 26 broke my heart—tore down paradise and put up etc. I loved seeing your reminder of the countless hours I enjoyed the resident and migratory fauna and lovingly tended flora, read and danced, and scarfed hot dogs out there.
