Trump’s focus on the California coastal commission is another example of how “permitting reform” discourse undermines environmental law. YIMBYs always complain about it. Alas, there will no additional housing by eliminating the CCC. But there will definitely be lost access to public beaches.

Now Trump is coming after the CA Coastal Commission, which had done an incredible job protecting the CA coast, over the disaster aid money. Not good.
