I am sending my project orange friends to the museum to have fun with some paint. Ruining great works of art to save the planet is what must be done to save it. If you disagree, your head is in the sand. #saveourplanet
Timely. I already have pre-Xmas tickets for the Da Vinci museum in Milan. What a treat to watch this 2 part Ken Burns PBS documentary first. Thank you for posting.
I haven't watched it yet. My mom said a lot of the people interviewed spoke in Italian and the subtitles were in yellow text that was super hard to read unless it happened to be over a dark background, which it was not most of the time. Mom is dyslexic so she couldn't follow it very well.
Decoding da Vinci? Weird, I'm watching a documentary about the Louvre from the 70s right now on YouTube, and that's up next in the queue. Then one on Michelangelo, and another on Van Gogh. Coincidence?
He is by far one of my most favourite people in history. No one comes close. Not even Einstein. His abilities transcended all other humans of his time. The more I studied him, the more I understood how amazing his abilities were. Astonishing man.
I got interested in this subject by reading “I Mona Lisa” recently, telling his story from the eyes of the painting observing what was happening in his studio, and his visitors like Michelangelo coming and going etc. thanks for the recommendation of this documentary.
Frederick Hayek talks about this in the Road to Serfdom. He says whenever there is a consolidation of central power, the most ruthless leader will bubble to the top. We are seeing it unfold.
Agreed. The techniques used absent the letters and photos employed in Burns precious projects make the visual experience something like early film experimentation- BUT captivating for a contemporary audience.
In Tuscany there are several museums dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, all worth a visit. I recommend a stay of a few days, so you can also appreciate the natural beauty of the area and taste typical dishes and wines.
