There's good evidence to suggest that the market has already outpaced government policy on renewable energy. So the impact of the whims of head-in-the-sand politicians should be quite limited

People didn’t want SUVs until the car company directors started selling them (and people generally prefer beautiful places & good public transport). The presence of microplastics in our bodies & natural environment is accelerating in part due to tyre particulates.
EV sales have been stalled for some time and manufacturers are ramping down/reducing production, so I’m not sure where you are getting that information.
Excluding the Nissan Leaf that isn’t sold anymore new, nearly every EV is out of most people’s budget.
Ford and GM both scaled back production of pure EVs and global sales are being propelled by China, not the US. Hybrids are performing better than pure EVs and are also counted in those EV numbers. It’s not hard to have “record” sales of a limited market and Trump plans to kill the EV credit.
The idea that we will address the impending climate catastrophe with renewable solutions is bolloxology.
We don’t need green consumerism, we need less consumerism. Everyone knows this, we just aren’t going to do it, so we’ll pretend we’re doing something by buying EV’s and installing solar panels.

Thankfully, the switch from ICE to EV is accelerating.
Tyre particulate is a completely separate matter.
