We are both aggressive and seen as passive.

Whatever words that can be used to silence, tone police and ignore us will be used. None of it makes sense. Its not supposed to. It is there to blame us for our perceived failings. Whilst cisgender people continue to make themselves the *victim* of transphobia.

I appreciate that Mikki's book specifically talks to Black women's experiences of this ignorance and violence. The feeling of this chapter resonated with my very recent (and ongoing) experiences of transphobia and made me think how similar experiences must be for Black trans people.
